Audrey Hepburn passed away on January 20, 1993, four months before her sixty-fourth birthday, at home in her sleep. Funeral services were held at the Village Church of Tolochenaz-sur-Morges, Vaud, Switzerland, on Sunday, January 24, 1993:
UNICEF's Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan delivered a eulogy and Maurice Eindiguer, the very same pastor who had married Audrey and Mel Ferrer some 30 years earlier and also baptized her son Sean in 1960, presided over her funeral. Many family members and friends attended the funeral, including her sons Sean and Luca, partner Robert Wolders, brother Ian Quarles von Ufford, Dr. Andrea Dotti, Hubert de Givenchy, executives of UNICEF, actor friends Alain Delon and Roger Moore, and Mel Ferrer.
